SPRING MEITHEAL: Sunday 25th February 10.30 start.
Volunteer Opportunity to help build a medicinal herb garden on an organic permaculture farm in the wilds of Ballydehob in West Cork.
We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming Spring Meitheal.
Tasks and Equipment:
1. Raised Beds Preparation:
– Dig pathways and build up the beds in two fields.
– Equipment: Gloves, pointed shovels, mattocks.
2. Tree Planting from Nursery:
– Dig up trees from the young tree nursery.
– Equipment: Long thorn-proof gloves, snips, pointed shovel.
3. Herb Garden Weeding:
– Tend to the established herb garden.
– Equipment: Gloves, snips, hand trowel.
PERKS FOR VOLUNTEERS:
– One hour’s time credit for each hour you volunteer.
– Fun chats with other volunteers.
– A fulfilling day of meaningful work.
– Organic vegetable soup and bread for lunch.
– Future attendance to a herb workshop free of charge.
Some of the work is strenuous work so we are looking for stronger volunteers for these jobs but there is also easier work weeding for those who can help with a lighter job!
Below are some photos from last year when the garden was freshly prepared and the photos as it is now!
Let’s come together, cultivate community, and sow the seeds of wellness. Volunteer for our Spring Meitheal and be a part of this enriching experience!
